Meat on the inside, veggies on the outside. The ‘Cabbage Roll’ represent the qualities of men in WOO/BROTHERS debut Spring/Summer 2017 collection. The terms ‘Cabbage Roll’ describes the desirable quality of men among Japanese ladies. The seemed meek and gentle exterior of these men does not describe its carnivorous inner nature.
WOO/BROTHERS is another venture of the designers behind FIZIWOO in expanding its wings into menswear market. For its debut collection, the inspiration came from Keikogi; Japanese martial arts training uniform commonly squared shape and loose fitting to ease movements. The boxy, oversized silhouette of Keikogi has became the staple throughout the collection paired with wide leg, double pleated Bermuda shorts to accentuate the timid, laid back outer layer of cabbage roll men.
Textured polyblend fabrics alongside with abstract print woven jacquard were the staples in the collection. The ‘W’ patched paneling would be the Woo/Brothers new signature with the ‘WOO’ lettering sewn on every pieces. The monochromatic pallete with a hint of pastel color of pink and olive green dominates the collection. WOO/BROTHERS will be available for purchase end of 2016 or first quarter of 2017.
